As we bid farewell to 2018, we welcome 2019 with so much gusto…
*We continue to build the MMM brand with four successful fundraisers in 2018: Marawi Concert in February; Deloreans Concert band in March; Golf Classic in June; Summer Bash in September as you may have followed on our website. Thank you very much board members, excellent volunteers, and especially our supporter-sponsors.
*Even with minimal resources, we conducted two MMM mission trips to Philippines in Feb.-March with a side fact-finding trip to Sri Lanka, courtesy of Mr. Akalanka Warusavitharana, member of MMM International Advisory Board. The successful recent November trip to Bayabas, Surigao del Sur,Mindanao Philippines which highlighted our sustainable healthcare projects in Prosthesis, Eyesight 20/20 and Diabetes Screening[watch website video of this mission]went so well beyond our expectations. The goodwill we created was remarkable, leading to the town mayor’s designating Montero Medical Missions name on one of its municipal compound buildings.
*The most welcome pleasant surprise in our efforts for MMM branding came on Nov.8th with Physicians for Peace Philippines in Manila; Nov.16th with STOP[Supporting Transformational Opportunities for People] organization in Hampton Roads Virginia; Dec.5th with Virginia Asian Chamber of Commerce in Richmond, Virginia; Dec.13th with Virginia Foundation for Humanities and the Library of Virginia. All four humanitarian organizations honored Doc during their year’s significant reception event.
*Upscale Resale for Montero Medical Missions high-end thrift store will soon have a combined commission-driven/volunteer management folks. Stay tuned.
*We warmly welcome our new MMM Active Board Member, Kim Painter, CPA @BBCP and current President of Chesapeake Great Bridge Rotary Club who will be joining MMM early next year.
*Congratulations are in order, to Dr. Dan P. Montero, member of MMM International Advisory Board on his official assumption, Jan.1, 2019 as President of Mayo Clinic Florida’s 525 physician-strong medical staff.
*With MMM branding becoming a reality, we are poised to tell our story to the world:
*On April 20, 2018 when North Korean leader Kim Jung Un announced that he is amenable to denuclearization of the entire Korean Peninsula, we readily sent an email to U.S. Ambassador to Philippines, H.E. Sung Kim, Doc’s good friend. It stated that MMM would be willing to conduct a medical mission to North Korea and create sustainable healthcare projects once there is normalization of relations between U.S.-South Korea and North Korea.
*MMM is in the process of finalizing the contract to build a motorized, shallow draft, floating medical clinic in Cebu, Philippines. Soon, fundraising efforts will be launched from all directions to have this revolutionary healthcare delivery system operational, no later than the end of 2019. Therefore everyone stay tuned.
*Finally, the above developments propel us enough to conduct our first MMM Annual Gala Fundraiser on Sat. Nov.9, 2019 at the beautiful, scenic Half Moone Cruise facility in Norfolk Virginia. Save the date for y’all are invited. We also welcome your input.
The next MMM Health Fair for Veterans will be at Chesapeake Regional Medical Center, Lifestyle building on a Sat. 2019, exact date TBA.
* Enjoy Christmas and let’s have a Happy Healthy 2019 ! Above all, WORLD PEACE.
