Our 1st Annual MMM Oyster Roast fundraiser last Thursday, Oct. 30, 2014 at Springhill Suites in Chesapeake was a resounding success by all accounts. Folks are already talking of next year, doing it with an expanded indoor/outdoor flexibility. We credit much our fundraising Ad Hoc committee, led by Col. Jim Ireland, U.S. Army, Ret., for the excellent work through its T.E.A.M. (Together Everyone Achieves More) concept. To our generous sponsors led by Little Joe’s Circle Sport NASCAR #33 Sprint Cup, we are grateful for their support. Every dollar raised goes to our domestic (on-going MMM Health Fair for Veterans) and international sustainable projects: Eyesight, Prosthesis, Dental Care and soon, Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy (HBOT) chamber.

Local sports baseball hero, Michael ‘Cuddy’ Cuddyer and wife Claudia’s financial support to our cause[s] was extraordinary. Their presence was a highlight of the evening, especially after his personalized autographed bat went very well during the auction. As National League batting champion (.331 in 2013) laying for the Colorado Rockies, we discussed how his future home runs and or grand slams (9 to date) can benefit Montero Medical Missions. Therefore, stay tuned. We welcome him wholeheartedly as a new member of MMM International Advisory Board.

The auctioned four Redskins skybox tickets for the game against the Rams on Dec. 7th donated by Darrell Saunders of ARRIBA Corp. went very well too, so as the raffled ‘Treasure Chest’ by Keith Horton. Keith single handedly did the on the spot promotion and watched it like a hawk.

All these merry makings, networking, food enjoyment were enhanced by a backdrop of two wonderful bands: Cultured and The Cutterz.

Please save the date, Monday, March 30, 2015 for a mega MMM fundraiser at Chrysler Hall in Norfolk. There is a distinct possibility of Lea Salonga coming to perform in a world-class concert. She is an internationally acclaimed Filipina performer; a Broadway Tony Award winner, Disney Legend, among her accolades.

Happy Thanksgiving y’all !!!
